Dear Run For All,

I am writing to urge you to remove Arla Protein as the title sponsor of the York 10K, and to end Arla's involvement in all future events. Run For All champions health, wellbeing and community, and those values should be reflected in the organisations you choose to partner with; Arla does not align with your mission.

Animal Justice Project's undercover investigation into Lowfields Farm, which supplied Arla, exposed shocking abuses. During the investigation carried out over several weeks in 2025, undercover footage revealed workers repeatedly beating cows with pipes, ropes, pliers and their bare hands. Calves were stolen away from their mothers within hours of birth and ‘spent’ or ‘unprofitable’ cows were sent to slaughter. The shocking findings raise serious questions about the standards within Arla's supply chain. Is this the kind of company Run For All wants to promote?

Arla Protein positions its products as fuel for athletes, but what exactly is behind the items being promoted? Arla can’t outrun the facts – we’ve seen what happens on dairy farms. Arla fails to show the environmental impact of their products and the animals trapped in the industry. Participants deserve sponsors that are transparent about the products they produce, and you should not be promoting items that come from exploitation.

Plant-based milks offer a more ethical and sustainable alternative, and I urge you to consider a leading brand as a sponsor. They do not depend on exploiting animals, produce significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions, and require less land and water. Many are fortified with calcium, vitamin D and vitamin B12, making them a nutritious choice that supports both personal health and the environment.

The future is moving beyond dairy. Continuing to promote Arla undermines the values that participants expect Run For All to uphold. I urge you to end the partnership with Arla and to work instead with sponsors whose practices genuinely reflect the values of health, compassion, integrity and sustainability.
